What if the prescriber is a physician assistant?
PA means physician assistant; the Arizona PA board has its own licence search.
As of October 3, 2026, a PA's right to prescribe depended on training and skill.
The board counts hours spent caring for patients. As of October 3, 2026, a PA with fewer than 8,000 board-approved hours needed a signed agreement with a supervising doctor.
At 8,000 approved hours or more, that agreement was not required. The PA still had to work with or seek help from other health professionals when needed.
Ask whether a doctor must oversee this PA's work, and who helps when your care needs more expertise.
Does the med spa need a facility licence?
As of October 3, 2026, some private Arizona offices did not need a separate licence for the facility itself.
The private-office exception leaves out separate urgent-care centers and offices with overnight patients. It also leaves out clinics for abortion or pain management that fit the law's definitions.
Offices giving general anesthesia, medicine that puts a patient fully asleep, also fall outside that exception. Dental care has a separate exception.
The people giving care still need the right licences; a med-spa name does not prove the office qualifies.
