Understand
What does peptide treatment mean?
It is a broad label. The useful answer starts with the name of the actual product.
What is a peptide?
Peptides are substances made from small chains of parts. They include insulin and the hormone in some weight-loss shots.
As of September 26, 2026, the name peptide described what a substance is made of. It did not prove a treatment was safe or allowed by law.
What is the FDA?
The U.S. body that reviews drugs is the Food and Drug Administration, usually called FDA.
A drug's name and form matter: a cream, tablet and injection are not interchangeable descriptions.
What does compounded mean?
For compounding, a medicine is mixed or made for an individual patient's needs; it is not a finished drug supplied by a manufacturer.
As of September 26, 2026, drugs made by compounding were not FDA-approved. Preparation by a licensed pharmacy did not give them that approval.
What name can I ask for?
Ask: What is the medicine's generic name—the name of its main ingredient?
Then ask whether it is a finished, approved product or a custom preparation, and how it will be used.
